It covers just the major areas that a writer May stumble on. The Binding on it is great also, because you are able to open it to the page you need and it lies completely flat on the table. I would highly recommend this to any college student or person that has to write APA style papers and is concerned with making sure that their paper is 100% correct.• side note, this product is the most up-to-date version of the APA style guidelines. Great resource for college students, or continuing education. I've used it a lot in the last 8 weeks for my first graduate classes. I imagine I'll be using it a lot more in the future. The spiral bound pages make it easier to use because you don't have to hold it open or worry about it snapping closed. It has a comprehensive table of contents in the front, and is easy to navigate. Also, it doesn't just cover citations like I originally though, it also covers format and grammar, so it was a nice surprise. Basically, it's extremely useful and I love it!
This book was okay and provided important information regarding APA style, but it is not worth buying. I bought it during my freshman year in college because I thought I needed it for a class. After the semester, I ended up selling it back, since I found out that most of the APA formatting requirements can be found online from reputable sources (such as Purdue Owl). Unless you would rather have a physical book to reference, I recommend reviewing what APA sources are offered online.
A useful resource for those who want to practice (or learn) effective writing skills. I find it especially helpful when preparing manuscripts for publication, or even letters to the editor of a newspaper. The spiral binding was a great idea!
This is a concise, quick reference guide when writing APA styles papers for college. I still have the full publication manual, too, but this version is easy to carry to and from class and covers enough until dissertation time. At that point, you'll need the full publication manual. Until then, this is the best desk reference book for APA style I've found. I have it highlighted, bookmarked, and have been using it for several years.
Love this product!! Both wife and I are using it for college right now. She working on her Masters and I on my BA. This has so much great knowledge on writing that I wish I had it sooner in my college career.
This is a great guide to the style. However, note that the style itself has many, many rules that do not make sense and are generally very time consuming to learn and apply.
